Revolutionary Road - Richard Yates

Though Richard Yates wrote in the fifties and beyond, and for whatever strange reason as a writer he sort of faded out of sight in the world of popular/best-selling literature, he is finally enjoying a comeback. He's a serious writer who doesn't necessarily privileges appealing to the reader who demands nothing more than a basic reading escape--though there's nothing wrong with that--he goes much further than that, for he reaches out to the reader who seeks a deeper reach into what is behind the human experience, and he accomplishes this task with an exquisite, fluid, and intelligent style.
