Synopsis "Stone Junction "

Annalee Pearce is a pregnant 16-year-old who has been placed in a corrective centre run by nuns for refusing to co-operate with authorities. Once in there, she soon rebels, breaks a sister's jaw with a roundhouse right and, when her son Daniel is born, she steals away into the rain.

Jim Dodge (Santa Rosa, California, 1945) is an American novelist and poet, known for his style that blends folklore, fantasy, and cultural critique. He earned an MFA in creative writing from the University of Iowa in 1969 and has held various jobs, from sheepherder to environmental restorer. For years, he lived in a self-sufficient commune in Sonoma County. Since 1995, he has been the director of the creative writing program at Humboldt State University in California.

Among his most notable works are the novels Fup (1983), Not Fade Away (1987), and Stone Junction (1990). In 2002, he published Rain on the River, a collection of poems and short prose written between 1970 and 2001, translated into Spanish as Lluvia sobre el río in 2017. His work has been praised by authors like Thomas Pynchon and is characterized by a lyrical sensibility that combines humor, tenderness, and a deep connection with nature.
