Dave Eggers (Boston, 1970) es un escritor, editor y editor estadounidense. Es autor de numerosas obras, entre ellas Una historia conmovedora, asombrosa y genial, Qué es el qué, Un holograma para el rey, El círculo y El ojo y lo imposible, novela por la que recibió la Medalla Newbery en 2024.

Fundó McSweeney’s, una editorial independiente dedicada a la literatura y el humor, y junto con Nínive Calegari creó 826 Valencia, un centro de escritura y tutoría para jóvenes que dio origen a una red de iniciativas similares en distintos países. También fundó ScholarMatch, organización dedicada a facilitar el acceso de estudiantes a la educación superior. A lo largo de su trayectoria ha recibido, entre otros reconocimientos, el American Book Award y el Dayton Literary Peace Prize, y ha sido finalista del National Book Award y del Pulitzer.
