Christopher Priest (born James Christopher Owsley in 1961) is an American comic book writer recognized for being the first African American to serve as a writer and editor in the mainstream comic industry. Throughout his career, he has worked for publishers such as Marvel, DC, and Valiant, standing out for his innovative approach to characters like Black Panther, Deathstroke, and Quantum & Woody. His style is characterized by complex plots, non-linear narrative structures, and a deep psychological exploration of the characters.

Among his most recent works is Superman: Lost (2023), a 10-issue miniseries published by DC Comics and translated into Spanish as Superman: Perdido.
