Synopsis "Twelve-Poke"

What would you create if imagination dictated your future? What would you do if you had to take responsibility for all of your actions? Would you act or treat people differently if you lived in a perfect world? Twelve-Poke, Shelley Williams' exploration of humans' capacity for creativity, love and compassion is a wholly original and refreshing take on the afterlife, taking what could be a heavy subject and instilling it with imagination, humour and grace. We see Williams' vision of Heaven through the eyes of Scott, a pragmatic realist who has great difficulty adapting to the rules and nuances of the afterlife. Through Scott, Williams mixes the ordinary actions of everyday life with the dreamy atmosphere and ecstasy of her vision of Heaven. An uplifting, funny and original work, Twelve-Poke is a must-read for those looking for a book with both heart and soul.
