Héctor Aguilar Camín
Héctor Aguilar Camín (Chetumal, Quintana Roo, 1946) is a distinguished Mexican writer, journalist, and historian. With a degree in Information Sciences from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a PhD in History from El Colegio de México, he has been the director of Nexos magazine and a contributor to media outlets such as La Jornada, Milenio, and Unomásuno. His journalistic and literary work has been recognized with the National Award for Cultural Journalism in 1986 and the Guggenheim Fellowship in 1989.

Among his most notable works are Morir en el Golfo (1985), La guerra de Galio (1990), and Un soplo en el río (1997), the latter awarded the Mazatlán Prize for Literature in 1998. His production spans genres such as the novel, essay, and history, addressing themes of Mexican politics and culture. Additionally, he has co-written essays like Un futuro para México (2010) with Jorge G. Castañeda, contributing to the analysis of the political and social development of the country.
