Hyrum Wright
Hyrum Wright is an American software engineer with a distinguished track record in maintaining and evolving large codebases. Since 2012, he has been working at Google, where he has led the maintenance of the C++ codebase and has made more individual modifications than any other engineer in the company's history. He is co-author of the book Software Engineering at Google: Lessons Learned from Programming Over Time (2020), alongside Titus Winters and Tom Manshreck, published by O’Reilly Media. This work has become an essential reference for understanding how sustainable software is built and maintained in large-scale organizations.
Wright holds a PhD in Software Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a master's degree from the same institution and a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University.
