Isabel Pisano
The writer and journalist Isabel Pisano, born in Uruguay, has collaborated with the most important national and international media (RAI, Telecinco, Interviú, El Mundo, Il Giornale, The Guardian, etc.) and has interviewed numerous heads of state, politicians, and personalities from the world of cinema and culture. As a special envoy to conflict zones, she has covered the wars in Lebanon, Chad, Iraq, Bosnia, and Somalia, and was the only journalist present at the bombings in Mosul and Basra, Iraq, in 1993. Among other awards, she holds the Medal from the Spanish Ministry of Culture for her body of work; the Special Jury Mention of the Ilaria Alpi Award 1997 from RAI; the Ciudad de Valencia Award; the ARi runner-up 1999, and the ARi as Journalist of the Year 2002 for her international reports in Marie Claire magazine. She was a founding member of the Aix of peace in Brussels along with Nobel Peace Laureates Pérez Esquivel and Al Baradei, Nobel Literature Laureate José Saramago, and the president of the Voltaire Network Thierry Meyssan.
