Tom Ford
Thomas Carlyle Ford, better known as Tom Ford, was born in Texas in 1961. He studied architecture and interior design. He directed A Single Man and Nocturnal Animals, but gained global fame as a fashion designer, launching his own luxury brand in 2005. In 1994, he was the creative director of Gucci and of Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) in 1999. Later, he launched a line of men's clothing, beauty products, eyewear, and accessories in 2006. Ford revolutionized the way fashion is understood, introducing elegantly explicit sexuality as a new market concept. He is the widower of Richard Buckley, a journalist and former editor-in-chief of Vogue Hommes International.
