James Joyce (Dublin, 1882-Zurich, 1941) was an Irish writer, globally recognized as one of the most important and influential of the 20th century, acclaimed for his masterpiece, Ulysses (1922), and for his controversial later novel, Finnegans Wake (1939). His series of short stories titled Dubliners (1914), as well as his semi-autobiographical novel A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (1916), have also been highly valued. Joyce is a prominent representative of the avant-garde literary movement known as Anglo-Saxon modernism, alongside authors such as T.S. Eliot, Virginia Woolf, Ezra Pound, or Wallace Stevens.

María Elena Walsh was born in Buenos Aires in 1930. She was a poet, novelist, singer, songwriter, and scriptwriter for theater, film, and television. Alongside a significant body of work for children, for which she is globally recognized, she developed a substantial body of work for adults consisting of songs, novels, journalistic articles, radio columns, movies, and TV shows. A kind of cultural provocateur, she always criticized aspects of the world around her; among others, the role that patriarchal culture assigns to women and men. She was already a crucial figure in feminism when in 1976 Cancionero contra el mal de ojo, a compilation of her incisive and successful songs for adults, was released, preceded by Juguemos en el mundo (1970). Novios de antaño (1990) was her first novel for the adult audience, followed by the unclassifiable Fantasmas en el parque (2008) and several compilations of articles. She received numerous awards: the Municipal Poetry Award, the Argentores, the Gran Premio Sadaic, and the Highly Commended from the Hans Christian Andersen Award by the IBBY, among many others. Distinguished Citizen of Buenos Aires (1985) and honorary doctorate from the National University of Córdoba (2010), María Elena Walsh is a key figure in Argentine culture. She died in Buenos Aires in 2011.

Jaime Sabines Gutiérrez (Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, March 25, 1926-Mexico City; March 19, 1999) was a Mexican poet and politician, recognized as one of the great Mexican poets of the 20th century. As a writer, he was very productive; although he began disseminating his poetry at the age of 18 with "Horal", his first poetry collection, it was in 1950 that he started a series of publications that would end just a few years before his death. Sabines acknowledged the importance of technical study for his evolution as a writer, to find his own personality, while still drawing inspiration from Neruda or Lorca, among his other strong influences. His love for his father was captured in a poem that the author himself considered his best work, "Algo sobre la muerte del mayor Sabines".

Liliana Bodoc (1958-2018) was born in Santa Fe and lived in Mendoza from a very young age. She dropped out of high school only to return several years later, married, with Galileo and Romina, her children, already part of the family. She studied for a degree in Modern Literatures at the University of Cuyo and worked as a teacher of Spanish and Argentine Literature at schools within the same university. She began publishing in her forties and managed to enter the stream of literature naturally, yet with the urgency of someone who clearly knows what they have come to do in this life. She published her first book in 2001, Los días del venado, a novel that was born a classic and immediately placed her in the very special position she holds today in Spanish-language narrative. "La saga de los confines", completed with Los días de la sombra and Los días del fuego, is probably our reference work in the field of Latin American epic genre. Additionally, she authored the novels Memorias impuras, Presagios de carnaval, and the Tiempo de dragones trilogy. Liliana wrote extensively for children and young adults: Sucedió en colores; La entrevista; El mapa imposible; Diciembre, Súper Álbum; El perro del peregrino; Amigos por el viento and the Elementales series: Ondinas, Salamandras, Silfos y Nomos among others. Her books have been translated into English, French, German, Dutch, Polish, Italian, Portuguese, and Japanese. She received numerous awards, including the Konex de Platino and the White Ravens.

A doctor by profession, he developed a literary work focused on the sharp observation of everyday life, psychological nuances, and contained emotions. In "Chekhov's Stories", a collection that may vary depending on the edition, essential tales such as The Lady with the Dog (1899), Sorrow (1886), and Ward No. 6 (1892) are included, showcasing his austere, ironic, and deeply human style.

Laura nació en Reconquista, en el año 1936, es licenciada en Letras Modernas y escribió numerosos cuentos, obras de teatro y libretos de televisión, además de realizar un importante trabajo de recopilación de relatos, poemas, dichos y coplas populares y fue directora de colecciones de libros para niños y niñas.

Entre las obras infantiles, “La Torre de Cubos” recibió el Premio Estímulo a la Producción Literaria del Fondo Nacional de las Artes en 1964 y luego fue censurado por la dictadura cívico-militar que gobernó la Argentina entre 1976 y 1983.

La obra tiene una historia emotiva, luego de ser censurado por la dictadura, en 2017 tuvo una revancha en visibilidad, un jardín de infantes de La Paternal decidió, tras una votación —donde niños y niñas comprendieron el rol de la democracia—, que su jardín fuera bautizado con el nombre del libro.
