And neither Tom, nor anyone else, can imagine a peaceful purpose for these "stars". This is a hard science fiction novel situated in the very near future. It is written by a former "rocket scientist" and part-time engineering professor. It contains a brief appendix for those who desire a more detailed explanation of the science that is the basis of this novel.
