Synopsis "A Magic Crystal? "

This chapter book in Newbery Honor-winning and bestselling author Louis Sachar's Marvin Redpost series is getting magical...or is it? Marvin Redpost has a girlfriend--not a real girlfriend, just a girl who is a friend. And Casey Happleton is no ordinary girl. She lives in an old firehouse and she has a magic crystal! She wants to share the crystal with Marvin. Could the crystal really be magic? Or is Casey putting her own spell on Marvin? Hilarious and relatable, Marvin Redpost is perfect for kids who love to bond with quirky characters like Junie B. Jones and George Brown, Class Clown.

Louis Sachar was born on March 20, 1954 in New York. While he was in the School of Economics, he accidentally taught some classes at a school. There, he discovered two things: he enjoyed teaching and he did not like the books the kids had to read. This developed the seed of a writer in him, which over time he was able to and knew how to put into practice. He finished Economics and began to study Law. Meanwhile, he made some forays into children's and youth literature. He definitively rose to fame in 1998 with his book "Holes", for which he received the National Award for Youth Literature and the Newbery Medal, the highest award given to an author of children's and youth literature in the United States. After this, he was able to leave the legal profession and dedicate himself to what he really liked: writing. In 2003, "Holes" was made into a movie: "Holes, the curse of the holes", where he himself took care of the screenplay.
