Synopsis "A Need For Lightning"

Brad retires to the quiet life of the ranch after serving two terms as President of the Republic of Terra that united the world. He thought his time would be peaceful on the ranch with his wives and children. But the supposed accidental death of two of his wives sends three of them to find out what really happened. That results in another of his wives dying. Patty and Toni seek revenge for their deaths. Just when he thought it would settle back down again, Brad gets a scrambled message from another wife in orbit around Saturn. An Alien ship had just appeared and wanted to talk to her. After that call, Brad and his wives make plans to leave Earth to go and talk to these creatures. Building a ship called the "Lightning" they prepare to go into space but there is one problem. Earth has became so paranoid after the Martian bug killed hundreds, laws are passed refraining anyone from coming back to Earth. If they leave they may never be allowed to return. Now was the question, should they take the younger children still at home or leave them behind? A Doctor in Jackson's fleet has developed a vaccine to make the human body immune to all viruses and other bacteria. Those in power on Earth do not want this known, they stay in power by using the Earthlings fears of what might be out there to maintain control!
