Autofelgen werden heute entweder aus gewalztem Stahl hergestellt oder aus Leichtmetall gegossen oder geschmiedet. Stahlfelgen sind gewhnlich billiger, gelten aber als optisch nicht so attraktiv wie Leichtmetallfelgen. In einigen Fllen verringert sich die ungefederte Masse beim Einsatz von Alu-Felgen, das Ansprechverhalten der Federung ist besser.
