April 997) war Bischof von Prag, christlicher Missionar bei den Ungarn und Pruen und Mrtyrer. Als Prager Bischof geriet Adalbert wegen seiner Reformpolitik in Konflikte mit geistlichen und weltlichen Groen. Zweimal verlie er sein Bistum, um als Mnch und Missionar zu leben. Am 23. April 997 wurde er auf einer Missionsreise an einem nicht genau bekannten Ort im Norden des heutigen Polen am Ufer des Frischen Haffs, eventuell bei dem Dorf Tenkitten bei Fischhausen (heute Primorsk) im Samland oder einem Ort in der Nhe des spteren Elbing erschlagen.
