August 1849 in Bonn), war eine deutsche Schriftstellerin, Schwester des Philosophen Arthur Schopenhauer und Tochter der Schriftstellerin Johanna Schopenhauer. Geboren in Hamburg, wuchs Adele Schopenhauer in Weimar unter dem Einfluss des Knstler- und Gelehrtenzirkels auf, der sich im Salon ihrer Mutter versammelte. Adele war hoch begabt und beschftigte sich mit Literatur und Dichtung. Doch schrieb sie nicht nur Mrchen, Gedichte und Romane, sondern sie war auch eine Meisterin des Scherenschnitts: Sowohl ihre berragenden Scherenschnitte als auch ihre Literatur ist vor allem im englischen Sprachraum gewrdigt worden.
