Adolf Schandl ( 1936 in Wien) ist ein sterreichischer Strafgefangener, der als Stein-Ausbrecher und Karlau-Geiselnehmer bekannt wurde. Adolf Schandl hatte in den Jahren 1967 und 1968 zusammen mit seiner Freundin drei bewaffnete Raubberflle begangen und dabei zwei Menschen niedergeschossen. Dafr wurde er am 11. Juni 1970 vom Landesgericht Wien wegen dreifachen schweren Raubes und zweifachen Mordversuchs zu zehn Jahren schwerem Kerker verurteilt und in die Justizanstalt Stein berstellt. Im Oktober 1971 versuchte Schandl mit einem Mithftling zu flchten und konnte ber die Anstaltsmauer ins Freie springen; Weil er sich dabei jedoch eine Beinfraktur zuzog, konnte er schnell wieder verhaftet werden.
