Die Rote Bohnenpaste, auch Azukibohnenpaste genannt, ist eine se, dunkel purpurrote Paste aus Azukibohnen, die in verschiedenen chinesischen oder japanischen Speisen verwendet wird, meist fr Swaren. Die Paste wird aus zunchst gekochten und anschlieend zerdrckten Azukibohnen hergestellt und whrend der Produktion meist mit Zucker oder Honig gest. Hufig werden die Bohnenhlsen vor dem Sen ausgesiebt, was zu einer weicheren und homogeneren Masse fhrt. Die Paste stammt aus der chinesischen, vegetarischen buddhistischen Kche.
