AI Cannot Own the Decision - Wayne Harry Johnson Jr.

So if your eye for pictures never developed, that one is on you.

Not the schools. Not the algorithm. Not the tools.

Manet rode a train across a country with his stomach in knots, just to stand in front of one canvas in Madrid.

You do not have to put on pants.

A painter's only real decision is what to emphasize and what to let go dark.

That is the job. Everything else is delivery.

Rubens ran a shop with a hundred hands in it, and he priced every picture by how much of his own judgment was in it. Hitchcock slept on the set, because he had already decided the whole thing weeks earlier on paper. Ford would not shoot a close-up, because he knew the cutting room would use it.

Not one of them did all the work.

Every one of them owned all of it.

Now a machine makes a thousand decent pictures before lunch and everybody is acting like this is a new problem.

It is four hundred years old.

The machine cannot own the good decision.

It cannot own the bad one either.

That leaves you.
