Un malvado monstruo, llamado Tristezzo, ha dejado la ciudad sin colores, pues se alimenta de ellos y no soporta ver contentos y felices a sus habitantes. Por eso todo se ha vuelto gris, y las personas del lugar están muy tristes, además de llenas de temor hacia el monstruo, que cada día se infla más y más. Pero un día llegan al lugar dos niñas que, llenas de felicidad, no dejan de bailar, cantar y reír, haciendo que el malvado Tristezzo termine reventando, y expulsando todos los colores robados, que volverán a sus dueños, recuperándose así la alegría y la felicidad.
