Synopsis "Allyson"

Allyson is the second in a series of stories heralding the lives of "The Hamilton Women." Granddaughter of Josh Hamilton, a main character in MILLIE, first of The Hamilton Women, abandons her dreams to become a lawyer and decides to join her best friend in an adventure of teaching in primitive East Texas. Set in the late 1890s, she defies her mother making decisions that alienate her for years to come. She and Lilly cross country in an era when young women found traveling unaccompanied to be difficult. Allyson's teaching career takes her on a roller coaster of adventure with twists and turns of unexpected incidences that change the direction of her life. An exciting journey that binds Allyson to the small Texas town where she finds friends, romance, and becomes a leader among its people.
