Her first work was Alma abierta (2001), a beautiful poetry collection that addresses the conflicts of the human being in maturity; De los amores negados (2003), her first novel, won the Latin Literary Award 2004 from the prestigious Chicago Book Fair and was warmly received by critics and readers in Spain and Latin America. El penúltimo sueño (2005) established her as a great novelist. In 2007, Lo que le falta al tiempo also won the Latin Literary Award as the best mystery and feelings novel. In 2009, she received the Ibero-American Narrative Award Planeta-Casamérica for the work Ella, que todo lo tuvo, followed by Memorias de un sinvergüenza de siete suelas (2013).
