Synopsis "Amazing: Anthology"

AMAZING is a collection of short stories, poems, and haiku which showcases the talents of thirty-three writers who live in the high desert of Southern California in an amazing area called the Antelope Valley. It is published by the non-profit writers group, the Antelope Valley Writers Association (AVWA). This is the AVWA's second anthology. It differs from their first, Soaring, in two ways. First, it has an inspirational theme as a tribute to two talented members of the group who passed in 2014, Dave Ostman and Gary Burgess. Secondly, the submissions were open to all writers who reside in the Antelope Valley. The high desert is indeed a place for the arts as thirty-three talented wordsmiths, from middle-school students to retirees, are included in AMAZING. The authors range from experienced published writers to everyday people who just love to write. Among them are doctors, teachers, students, artists, business owners, librarians, executive assistants, salespersons, counselors, aerospace employees, homemakers, firemen, ministers, and even a former Las Vegas showgirl - all with a gift for writing and a desire to share their stories with you. The AVWA is also dedicated to supporting education and local students, as proceeds from the sales of this book are donated to the Antelope Valley Scholarship Fund.
