He aquí por fin en lengua castellana los dos más ilustres tratamientos del mito de Anfitrión escritos en Portugal, creados respectivamente en los siglos XVI y XVIII. Cuando Jean Giraudoux escribió su "Anfitrion 38" en los años 30 de este siglo, puso tal título porque suponía que ya existían treinta y siete tratamientos anteriores. Estos dos se hallan entre los más felices y divertidos. Camoens no sólo fue el autor épico de "Os lusiadas" y Da Silva, O judeu, no fue tan sólo un cierto escritor judio que fue quemado por la Inquisición portuguesa, ¡en pleno siglo XVIII! Ambos fueron autores teatrales -sobre todo Da Silva- de grande y muy sensible talento.
