Rather it refers to a basic theological and hermeneutical perspective relevant for any form of preaching that has been conceived based on the idea of a God who is attentive to man. From this point on possible consequences for pastoral self-conception, church services and life in the community can develop. This study provides an orientation for preaching practice with a socially relevant objective and from the perspective of a 'public church'. German description: Aufmerksam predigen meint grundsatzlich mehr und anderes als eine rhetorische Anweisung zum 'besseren' oder 'reizvollen' Predigen. Es bezeichnet vielmehr eine theologisch-hermeneutische Grundperspektive fur jede Predigtpraxis, die vom Gedanken eines auf die Menschen aufmerksamen Gottes her konzipiert ist. Von dort aus werden mogliche Konsequenzen fur das pastorale Selbstverstandnis, den Gottesdienst und die Gemeindewirklichkeit entwickelt. Das Buch gibt eine Orientierung fur die Predigtpraxis in gesellschaftlich relevanter Ausrichtung und in Perspektive einer 'offentlichen Kirche'.
