Se aborda una revision actualizada de la respuesta sexual humana destacando la importancia de los aspectos afectivo-emocionales y cognitivos. Finalmente se abordan cuestiones relacionadas con la terapia sexual y la prevencion de los abusos sexuales infantiles.

Javier Gómez Zapiain has been a full professor of Psychology of Sexuality at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of the Basque Country (where he was responsible for the Applied Psychology Service) and a researcher in the field of human sexuality. He focuses his research activity on the study of the relationships between attachment and sexuality in couple relationships, as well as on the study of affective mediators associated with the risks inherent to sexual behavior in young people and adolescents. He is the author of various monographs and scientific articles. In the applied field, he worked for a decade as a psychologist in a public family planning center (sexual and couple therapy). Currently, he contributes to the training of professionals as a collaborator in various master's degrees and training courses.
