Synopsis "Bäume: Prosa (in German)"

In der Erzählungssammlung 'Bäume' geht es vor allem um Geschichten von der Liebe, deren Verschwinden und Wiederfinden. Aber auch um mysteriöse Zusammenhänge. So untersucht z.B. ein schuldbeladener, ehemaliger Polizeibeamter kriminelles Verhalten, das in rätselhafter Verbindung mit einer Buchenallee steht. In den 'Expat-Storys' wird das Leben von Auslandsdeutschen in Usbekistan kurz vor 9/11 kritisch geschildert, 'Azzurro' dagegen bietet Momentaufnahmen einer Reise durch Italien. Groteskes und Witziges findet sich an vielen Stellen, so in einem Text über eine Fahrt mit der Transsibirischen Eisenbahn. Hauptthema ist aber unzweifelhaft die Liebe, ob im am Comer See spielenden 'Lago' oder in 'Das dunkle Mädchen', einer Novelle auf Postkarten.
