Eric Carle (1929-2021) was a renowned author and illustrator of children's literature, famous for his distinctive collage style with vibrant colors and striking textures. His most iconic work is The Very Hungry Caterpillar (1969), which has sold millions of copies worldwide and has been translated into more than 70 languages. Throughout his career, Carle wrote and illustrated over 70 books, captivating generations of children with simple and educational stories.

Other notable works include Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me (1986) and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? (1967), in collaboration with Bill Martin Jr. His legacy continues at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in the USA, founded to celebrate children's literature.
