Synopsis "Converting To Buddhism"

Buddhism is one of the world great religions but it can also be viewed as a spiritual movement or pathway to liberation, called Nirvana. This religion has offered its followers, Buddhists, a way of life that teaches lessons in mindfulness, with an understanding that suffering is caused by desire and attachment to worldly possessions e.g. people, places, things, etc. This suffering was a realization arrived at by Sidhartha Guatama, the first Buddha. Upon realizing this inherent suffering people were experiencing, one might say Buddhism arrived. This led to the Four Noble Truths; namely: (a) suffering exists, (b) suffering is caused by attachment to desire, (c) suffering stops when attachment to desire stops, and (e) freedom from suffering is possible by adhering to the eight fold path. The Eight Fold Path is: 1.Right view 2.Right intention 3.Right speech 4.Right action 5.Right livelihood 6.Right effort 7.Right mindfulness 8.Right concentration Please note well that the Eight Fold Path is also sometimes labelled The Eight Attitudes. It is believed by Buddhists that if you follow these 'right' attitudes or paths that this is the right path for achieving Nirvana, i.e. the State of Enlightenment. Buddhism can be a complex religion to follow but paradoxically it can be so simple. Much of it has to do with one's ability to mindfully adhere to the religious and spiritual principles of Buddhism. This book will help you with that.
