Justo L. González (Havana, 1937) is a Cuban-American historian and theologian, known for his extensive work in the history of Christianity and Protestant theology. He was the youngest doctor to earn a Ph.D. in Historical Theology at Yale University. He has been a professor at institutions such as the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico and the Candler School of Theology in Atlanta. His ecumenical approach and commitment to theological education have made him an influential figure in Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world
Among his most notable works is the History of Christianity, published in two volumes between 1984 and 1985, covering from the early church to the contemporary era. He is also the author of History of Christian Thought, a trilogy that explores theological evolution from the early centuries to the present. Other relevant works include A Brief History of Christian Doctrines and Introduction to the History of the Church.
