Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 2, Freie Universität Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit behandelt Motiv und Darstellung des Kindsmords in Goethes "Faust". Dafür wird zunächst der Begriff "Kindsmord", der einen Hauptbestandteil dieser Arbeit darstellt, erläutert. Anschlie end wird der Kindsmord in der Frühen Neuzeit, aber auch in der allgemeinen geschichtlichen Entwicklung analysiert. In einem weiteren Teil wird auf das Thema Kindsmord in deutschen Dramen eingegangen. Daraufhin wird der Prozess gegen Susanna Margaretha Brandt betrachtet, der einen Einfluss auf den Autor Johann Wolfgang von Goethe und die Gretchentragödie hatte. Im Hauptteil wird die Gretchentragödie und der damit verbundene Kindsmord im Werk "Faust" näher untersucht. Im Anschluss folgt ein Fazit über die erworbenen Erkenntnisse zu den oben genannten Themenpunkten bezüglich des Kindsmordes und speziell des Falles von Gretchen.
