Philipp Blom (Hamburg, 1970) is a German historian, novelist, and essayist, noted for his interdisciplinary approach that encompasses cultural history, philosophy, and social criticism. He studied history, philosophy, and Jewish studies in Vienna and Oxford, where he earned a PhD in Modern History. He has lived in cities such as London, Paris, and currently resides in Vienna. In addition to his work as a writer, he has worked as a journalist, translator, and presenter of cultural programs on Austrian radio Ö1.

Among his most recognized works are The Vertigo Years: Change and Culture in the West, 1900-1914 (2008), The Fracture: Life and Culture in the West, 1918-1938 (2015) and The Nature Mutiny (2019. His narrative and analytical style has been praised for its ability to connect historical processes with contemporary issues. Blom has received various accolades for his contribution to current European thought.
