L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was a prolific American author, mainly known for his contributions to children's literature. His most famous work, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900), is considered a classic of children's literature and has been adapted multiple times into film, theater, and television. Baum wrote numerous books that are part of the Oz series, with titles such as The Land of Oz (1904) and Ozma of Oz (1907), all within the fantasy genre. In addition to his Oz works, Baum ventured into other genres such as theater, fairy tales, and novels.
