Wir stellen ein Modell vor, das auf der Anatomie der Patientin basiert, um den Prozentsatz des ipsilateralen Lungen- und/oder Herzvolumens vorherzusagen, der bei Brustbehandlungen mit statischen tangentialen Feldern der externen Strahlentherapie mindestens eine bestimmte Dosis erhält. In der Einleitung wird kurz auf die Krankheit Brustkrebs und die Bedeutung der externen Strahlentherapie bei ihrer Behandlung eingegangen, und es werden die mit einer Strahlentherapie verbundenen Arbeiten erläutert, bis man zum Kern der Arbeit gelangt: dem theoretischen Rahmen des Modells. Die im theoretischen Rahmen definierten Variablen, die anhand der DICOM-Strukturdatei jedes Patienten berechnet werden können, sind nützlich, um das Volumen vorherzusagen, das die Isodose in den gefährdeten Organen einnimmt.
