He is an American writer known for his fantasy trilogy Above the Black, which has been a bestseller on The New York Times. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Gregson graduated cum laude from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in English teaching. He currently combines his literary career with teaching English at a high school.

His debut work, Sky’s End, was published in January 2024 by Peachtree Teen and released in Spanish in May 2024 by Editorial Hidra. The trilogy follows the adventures of Conrad, a young man who joins a guild of hunters in a world of floating islands and giant monsters. The sequel, Among Serpents, was published in April 2025.

Gregson lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and three daughters, two of whom are twins. He is active on social media, where he shares updates about his books and family life.
