Synopsis "Drunk on Life"

'Drunk on Life' has been a long time in coming. Felix has always believed that if a poem cannot be understood without explanation or special context, it is not worth writing-let alone publishing. For Felix, the act of writing has always been its own reward, often making publication seem unnecessary, if not at times a little frivolous. This collection exists largely because of the encouragement and gentle persistence of the Wednesday Night Poets at Writing NSW, whose faith in these poems ultimately persuaded Felix to share them with a wider audience. The poems gathered here are simple without being simplistic and accessible without sacrificing depth. They invite readers not to solve them, but to find themselves within them. "Warning: Seriously addictive poetry. You may just fall in love with poetry." - John French, retired librarian, Adelaide "Echoing the contemplative depth found in the works of Tagore and Rilke." - Ronald Martin, Architect, Sydney "Nothing short of a novel in verse, like Pushkin's Eugene Onegin or Vikram Seth's The Golden Gate, would do justice to this talent. Felix is as prolific a writer in verse as Balzac was a writer in prose. What more is there to say, other than that Felix is a loss to literature (and a gain to neurology)?" - Ashok K. Singh, Neurologist, Patna
