"El primer manga que publicó el maestro Mashima fue Rave, que se serializó en la revista Shonen Magazine de la editorial Kodansha de 1999 a 2005, recopilándose en 35 volúmenes.

En 2003 publicó una recopilación de historias cortas titulada Mashima‐en,y en 2006 y 2007 publicó Monster Soul, una historia en dos volúmenes.

2006 fue un año muy importante para él, ya que no solo publicó el primer tomo de Monster Soul sino que también publicó el primer capítulo de la existosa Fairy Tail, manga que continúa publicando en la actualidad. Gran fan de los videojuegos, de 2007 a 2009 se encargó de la adaptación en cuatro volúmenes de Monster Hunter Orage, de la famosa saga de videojuegos de CAPCOM."
