Synopsis "Elektra (in German)"

Die euripideische Elektra behandelt wie das gleichnamige Tragödie des Sophokles das letzte Kapitel der unheilvollen Geschichte der Atriden, und wie dieser hat auch Euripides die Tochter Agamemnons in den Mittelpunkt seiner Stücks gestellt. Seine Gestaltung des Stoffs ist weit weniger bekannt als das Stück seines Zeitgenossen und Konkurrenten, die realistische Entheroisierung von Personen, Situation und Atmosphäre und die Schaffung eines ganz neuen untragischen Tons sind aber nicht weniger interessant. Der hier vorgelegte Band ist der erste deutsche Kommentar zu dem Stück seit Weckleins schmalem Kommentar aus dem Jahre 1906. Er wendet sich nicht nur an Studierende und Forschende der Klassischen Philologie, sondern, wie alle Bände der Reihe, nicht zuletzt auch an einen grö eren Kreis von Interessenten aus benachbarten Literaturwissenschaften und vom Theater.
