English summary: The Festschrift for Christian Kirchner honors a most exceptional academic teacher and researcher on his 70th birthday, who, most recently while during his nearly twenty year activity as a professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin, made extensive contributions to the fields of legal and economic scholarship. In particular, Prof. Dr. Kirchners work has been critical in the development of modern economic law, especially the competition regulation law and he was of the leading minds of the economic theory of law before he unexpectedly passed away in January of 2014. For such an honoree, countless prestigious authors from Germany, Switzerland, the USA and Asia as friends, companions, students and colleagues have put together a collection of essays that discuss the central problems and themes from Prof. Dr. Kirchners field of scholarship. The central focus of the essays are economic and social law, antitrust legislation, the law and economy of regulation and institutional economic. The essays mostly relate to European and international themes and frequently adopt an economic point of view. German description: Mit der Festschrift fur Christian Kirchner sollte ein auaergewohnlicher akademischer Lehrer und Forscher zu seinem 70. Geburtstag geehrt werden, der in seiner die Rechts- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften umfassenden Laufbahn, zuletzt wahrend seiner fast 20-jahrigen Tatigkeit als Professor an der Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin, entscheidend zur Entwicklung des modernen Wirtschaftsrechts, insbesondere des Wettbewerbs- sowie des Regulierungsrechts, beigetragen hat. Er gilt als einer der fuhrenden Vordenker der Okonomischen Theorie des Rechts. Uberraschend ist der zu Ehrende am 17. Januar 2014 verstorben. Das Werk ist daher seinem Andenken gewidmet. Fur die Festschrift haben zahlreiche renommierte Autoren aus Deutschland sowie unter anderem der Schweiz, den USA und Asien als Freunde, Weggefahrten, Schuler und Kollegen Beitrage verfasst, die sich mit Problemen aus den zentralen Arbeitsgebieten des zu Ehrenden wissenschaftlich auseinandersetzen. Schwerpunkte der Beitrage bilden das Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftsrecht, Kartellrecht, Recht und Okonomie der Regulierung sowie Institutionenokonomie. Dabei wird meist ein europaischer oder internationaler Bezug hergestellt und haufig eine wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Sichtweise gewahlt.
