Synopsis "Green Grows Ivy"

Green Grows Ivy is a memoir written by Ivy Baker Priest, the first woman to serve as the Treasurer of the United States. The book chronicles Priest's life from her childhood in a small Utah town to her rise in politics, including her time as the Treasurer under President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Priest shares personal anecdotes and reflections on her experiences as a woman in politics during a time when women were not commonly seen in such roles. She also discusses her family life, including her marriage and motherhood, and how she balanced her personal and professional obligations. Overall, Green Grows Ivy is a compelling and insightful look at the life of a pioneering woman in American politics. This is a new release of the original 1958 edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
