La pregunta implícita es: ¿qué incidencia tiene la cuestión de género (la distinción masculino/femenino) sobre el tipo clínico? A sabiendas de que, por lo general, muchas veces pensamos como paradigmas de la obsesión, a la del varón y, como paradigma de la histeria, la de la mujer. En este recorrido se demuestra, de acuerdo con una orientación freudiana, que en el varón la obsesión es un dialecto de la histeria y en la mujer la histeria un dialecto de la obsesión.
