The Puritans used to say that ""providence is the last refuge of the saints."" D. A. Carson (Montreal, 1946) is a prominent evangelical theologian and New Testament professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Illinois. PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, he has been a pastor and international speaker. He is the author and co-author of more than fifty books on biblical studies and theology.

Among his most recognized works are An Introduction to the New Testament (2009), written with Douglas J. Moo, and the Biblical Theology Study Bible (2019), of which he was the general editor. His approach combines academic rigor with a deep theological understanding, being an influential figure in contemporary evangelical theology.
