Synopsis "Introduction to Lead Silicate Glasses"

The book deals with the conclusions drawn from the results obtained from the various investigation techniques such as physical, structural, thermoluminescence and spectroscopic studies of three different aluminum-antimony functional-based lead-silicate glass systems doped with Pr2O3, Ho2O3, and Sm2O3 for a suitable glass host preparation of distinctive optical use. The systematic investigation on glass systems of different chemical compositions (SiO2)59.9-(PbO)30-(Pr2O3)0.1-(Sb2O3)x: (Al2O3)10-x(SiO2)59.9-(PbO)30-(Ho2O3)0.1-(Sb2O3)x: (Al2O3)10-x and (SiO2)59.9-(PbO)30-(Sm2O3)0.1-(Sb2O3)x: (Al2O3)10-x (where 0 x 10; step size=02 mol% ) have been done with physical, structural, thermoluminescence, and spectroscopic techniques. As a part of structural characterization, we have studied X-ray diffraction, surface morphology, chemical analysis, DTA, and FTIR. Under spectroscopic investigations, we have studied optical absorption and photoluminescence. The results of all these techniques have been discussed and concluded in the book.
