Artist, filmmaker, and Chilean writer, naturalized French, of Jewish-Ukrainian descent. Since 1948, he has worked as a novelist, screenwriter, playwright, essayist, film and theater director, actor, film editor, comic book writer, musician, composer, philosopher, puppeteer, mime, psychologist, cartoonist, painter, sculptor, and comic book author. He has published 41 original books between 1963 and 2022. He is the author of more than two hundred comics between 1965 and 2022. He has directed ten films between 1957 and 2022.

He is mostly known for his prolific contribution to avant-garde cinema, especially for El topo (1970) and La montaña sagrada (1973)

Georges Bess (nacido en 1947 en París, Francia) es un reconocido dibujante e ilustrador de cómics, conocido por su estilo expresivo y detallado que combina influencias europeas y orientales. Bess comenzó su carrera artística como ilustrador de prensa y diseñador gráfico, pero pronto se volcó al cómic, destacándose por su capacidad para crear atmósferas intensas y narrativas visuales envolventes.

Su obra abarca diversos géneros, incluyendo aventuras, fantasía y relatos históricos, y se caracteriza por el dominio del claroscuro, la anatomía realista y composiciones cuidadosamente estructuradas.
