In der Forschungsliteratur wird dieses alteste Danziger Kaufmannsbuch zwar gelegentlich zitiert, ist bisher aber nur unzureichend untersucht worden. Diesem Desiderat nimmt sich Anna Paulina Orlowska in ihrem vorliegenden, zweibandigen Werk nun an. Thematisiert werden darin biographische Daten zu Pyre, seine Buchhaltung, Zahlungsmodalitaten, Handelswege, Handelsguter, Geschaftspartner und vieles andere mehr. Band 2 enthalt die kritische Edition des Kaufmannsbuches.
