Patricia Jeanne Reilly Giff (Brooklyn, 26 de abril de 1935 – † 22 de junio de 2021) fue una destacada escritora y educadora infantil estadounidense. Egresada con B.A. en Marymount Manhattan College, obtuvo luego un M.A. en St. John’s University y un Diploma Profesional en Lectura, así como un Doctorado Honoris Causa en Letras Humanas por Hofstra University. Durante unos veinte años se desempeñó como maestra en escuelas públicas, experiencia que influyó profundamente en sus libros para jóvenes lectores.

Giff escribió más de cien libros y es especialmente conocida por sus series Kids of the Polk Street School, Polka Dot Private Eye y novelas como Lily’s Crossing, Pictures of Hollis Woods, Nory Ryan’s Song o All the Way Home.
