Kesari
Kavita Rekha Jain (Author) · Kavita Rekha Jain · Paperback
Some people do jobs only to earn money. Some do it for the passion. Some do it, because everyone needs to do something. She did her job because her boss was like her mother. She agreed to write stories for a living because her boss decided to switch her career. So, she decided to leave behind a beloved career and become a writer. Stories remined her of a stinking ocean. She was born to be a journalist. What happened when a very ’reluctant writer’ decided to nab a fraudulent tarot card reader and make a story out of it?
First visit led to a second visit and then a third visit. The tarot card reader turned out to be a magician in disguise. Fighting fears became the chief reason to begin a new day and end it with dignity. Tarot cards felt like relay batons. She didn’t have the slightest idea that a career around writing stories shall introduce her to the most eccentric people on planet earth.
The first baton introduced her to a very stubborn athlete. He was unstoppable. He was indestructible. One day, he met his match. It appeared out of nowhere and stood in his way. He tried to break it. He tried to climb it. But he couldn’t push the wall away. What happens when your fear magically turns into a wall and stands in your way? What happens when a stubborn athlete rams his will against an equally stubborn wall?
The second visit introduced her to a ’daredevil’. She met a girl who customized her every speech. She spoke what others wanted to listen. She was dying a little everyday. The silence was slapping hard on her face.
She was everyone’s favourite. Everyone approved of her. Until, she made a different choice.
She needed to break the silence and the expectations... She wouldn’t settle for anything less. She wanted to be the best version of herself. She was determined to measure the length and breadth of a very painful dilemma.
The third visit requested her to shake hands with the sweetest person in the world. Day and night, he lived with a paralyzing fear. He was different from the people he belonged to. That realization gave him immense pain. He was hurt because he wanted so very much to be like the people he loved. He wandered on roads but he always returned home. He could never belong to anybody the way he belonged to his family. Destiny pushed him to the very edge and promised to gift him his home if he chose to jump from there.
She translated the experiences of three people in words and profusely thanked the universe for choosing such a fulfilling career for her. She didn’t know that only some people were lucky enough to choose a career for themselves. Only a handful of people were blessed to be gifted a career by universe.
Kesari: In My Way is a long, long story. It will keep wandering on nameless roads. It will always shake hands with people wearing masks. It will keep hugging people who look sad because it is written with the sole purpose of ’not leaving’ anyone behind. It is not an adventure. Adventures die after the adrenaline rush slows down. It might be a promise.
You will enjoy reading it if your plan is to return to your home with a bag full of goodies and a sunshine smile.
