En la noche de Reyes, antes de acostarse, Diego se da cuenta de que sus zapatos están sucios y decide limpiarlos. Pero se pone perdido y su madre tiene que cambiarle el pijama y meterlo de nuevo en la cama. Pero, después, Diego se da cuenta de que no le ha dejado comida a los Reyes y va a la cocina. Se ensucia con el turrón y derrama un cubo de agua. De nuevo se tiene que cambiar de ropa y meterse en la cama. Por la noche oye un ruido y alguien que se queja. Es el rey Gaspar, que se cayó y le sangra la nariz. Diego hará de enfermero para él.

María Menéndez-Ponte, born in A Coruña, is a prominent Spanish writer specializing in children's and young adult literature.
