Albert Camus (Mondovi, Algeria, November 7, 1913 – France, January 4, 1960) was a French novelist, essayist, and philosopher, whose career established him as a key figure in twentieth-century thought and literature. After studying philosophy in Algiers, he moved to France, where he developed a prolific career in both journalism and literature.
