Dan Abnett, born on October 12, 1965 in Rochester, Kent, is a British writer and screenwriter known for his contributions to comics and science fiction novels. He has worked for publishers like Marvel and DC Comics, standing out in series such as "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Legion Lost".

In the literary field, Abnett is famous for his novels set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, including the "Gaunt's Ghosts" series and the Eisenhorn inquisitor trilogy. He has also been involved in the "Horus Heresy" series, with titles like "Horus Rising" (2006). His work "The Founding", the first omnibus of "Gaunt's Ghosts", has been well received by critics. Abnett has sold more than two million copies of his novels and continues to be an influential figure in military science fiction literature.
